The Miss Rodeo Idaho program provides one of the most visible media spokespersons for the sport of rodeo. Since its inception in 1955, the Miss Rodeo Idaho Pageant has recognized the need for scholarships to help young women further their education.
By partnering with the Stampede for the Cure Foundation and creating “Pink on the Dirt Luncheon and Fashion Show” four years ago in conjunction with the Snake River Stampede Rodeo, has helped provide scholarships for talented, deserving young women to further their education. This year Miss Rodeo Idaho, Inc., is proud to have awarded $7,700.00 in scholarships at the Miss Rodeo Idaho, pageant due to events like this and other sponsors that believe in higher education. Sydney Butler of Boise won the title of Miss Rodeo Idaho 2018.
Sydney a recent graduate of Boise State Universe said; “I plan to use the scholarship money from the Miss Rodeo Idaho Inc. program to pursue a Master’s Degree in Communication while pursuing a career teaching students how to grow, develop and gain confidence in their public speaking skills. I am so thankful for the generosity of others that are helping me and the Miss Rodeo Idaho contestants further their education.”
Miss Rodeo Idaho is one of many spokespersons for the Stampede for the Cure Foundation, spreading Breast Cancer awareness as she travels throughout the state of Idaho and this great nation.
Food, Fun and Fashion at “Pink on the Dirt”. Cowboys, cowgirls and city slickers don their pink attire to spend the afternoon being entertained by rodeo queens and breast cancer survivors on the arena dirt. Area merchants graciously provide fashion for the survivors to model with the Miss Rodeo Idaho, pageant contestants competing for the coveted title of Miss Rodeo Idaho. Local businesses help sponsor the event with sponsorships and gifts for all who attend. Tickets for the event go on-line at ICTickets in May 2018.
The Stampede for the Cure Foundation uses their proceeds to help fund mammograms for non-insured or underinsured women in the Treasure Valley.
