The Buckaroo Breakfast is the largest fundraiser for the Canyon County 4-H Endowment Program that funds scholarships, teen conferences, and state and national events costs for local youth. All proceeds after operating expenses are donated to the program. In addition, leftover food is donated to the Boys and Girls Club and the Salvation Army.

A Long-Standing Tradition

The Buckaroo Breakfast started and expanded in the 1980’s by the Nampa Chamber of Commerce and was taken over by the Snake River Stampede Board and Canyon County 4-H in the 2000s. Each year over 300 volunteers from Canyon County 4-H – both adults and children – provide over 2000 combined hours sourcing donated supplies, volunteering, setting up, serving, and cleaning up.

The majority of supplies for the breakfast are donated.

No leftover food product is wasted. Paper products are inventoried and stored for next year. Leftover juice is donated to the Boys and Girls Club, eggs are given to the Salvation Army food store, with the understanding the product was donated by generous sponsors.
