Calf Scramble

ANNOUNCING THE 2025 CALF SCRAMBLE

June 21 Matinee, 2025

(Applications due June 10)

The Snake River Stampede takes great pleasure providing the youth of our agricultural community the opportunity for a fun and exciting way to win the funds to purchase a purebred beef heifer.  Many kids keep these heifers to begin their foundation cattle herds. Some even end up building these herds into commercial operations and become cattle ranchers as adults!  Other kids breed their heifers, then sell them, and use the profit to invest in their college career or help with a major purchase.  Regardless, this is a wonderful opportunity for our youth.

  • An award of up to $1,500.00 is given to winners.  This means that if a winner buys a heifer for $1,200.00, we will pay $1,200.00.  If a winner buys a $3,000.00 heifer, we will pay $1,500.00.
  • Applicants must be aged 12 through 17 years on or before this year's scramble on June 21.

The winners are required to return the next spring and show their heifer at the Calf Scramble Livestock Show. They are also encouraged to show their heifer at local county fairs and other local breed shows.

The Snake River Stampede Calf Scramble event was established in 1999 and has donated over $250,000 to encourage free enterprise, responsibility, and educational opportunity for the youth of the Treasure Valley.
